What is Sexual Harassment?

Any unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature.

Sexual Harassment in the School

Uninvited behavior that makes being in school offensive, negative, unfriendly, and/or intimidating and leads to a hostile environment that makes learning difficult.

"This for That.......Something for Something Else"  This is another form of harassment. 

Examples: 

• The manager at the fast food place in which you work says you will be fired if you do not have sex with him/her.
• Someone blocking the door and refusing to let you through unless you agree to certain behaviors.

 Flirting vs. Sexual Harassment

Flirting:

• Welcomed behavior
• Leaves you feeling positive
• Respectful
• Fun, Wanted, Flattering
• Enjoyable

Sexual Harassment:

• Unwelcome behavior
• Leaves you feeling negative
• Disrespectful
• Not fun
• Unwanted
• Unpleasant
• Illegal

SEXUAL HARASSMENT OFTEN GOES UNREPORTED. 

REPORTING IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET HELP.
